Thank You …. these two words are some of the first words that small children learn when learning how to speak. They are two words that go a long way in being polite and courteous.

We say Thank You to people as they hold open our doors to restaurants. We say Thank You to customer service reps as they help navigate us through their company directory. We say Thank you when someone lets us jump them in line. We say thank you as a server brings out our food. We say Thank You when people place an order with our business. We say Thank You to our guest who joined us for our special event. We say Thank You to our family and friends for wishing us a Happy Birthday. We say Thank You for everything on Thanksgiving.

When I was stepping into my Faith I did not know what to pray about nor how to talk to God. Talk to God??? What does that mean? How do I do that? How can I do that? What do I say to Him? Do I yell so He can hear me? Do I whisper like I do when I pray in church or do I leave my words in my head?

I was so lost and confused when it came down to me “talking” to God. I had no idea what to say, how to say it and if He would even be listening. The only thing that I could think of to say to Him was, “Thank You”. I thanked God for Life. I thanked Him for keeping me throughout my depression after my father was killed, throughout being a single mom to my son, throughout spending countless years of going back to school to obtain an undergraduate degree, throughout transitions of becoming a wife and mother of 4 while taking care of my elderly grandfather. I just thanked Him for it all! I did not know what else to do but say, Thank you.

As I continued to Thank God for everything He has done for me in my life, I realized that was not enough! I needed to Thank God for everything he has done, is doing and will do in my life. I began to build a sense of confidence just from Thanking God. I realized that if my Lord God has kept me through EVERYTHING that I have been through , then surely He will love me through my future.

I began to think BIG in God’s love. I believe that God started to take notice of my simple Thank You notes to Him. I began to appreciate everything about everything! I was and currently am not where I want to be, however, that does not stop me from giving God all the Glory and all the Praise. God has begun to trust me even more with His plan for my life. Because I began with a simple Thank You, God has given me clarity and is guiding my steps on His purpose and design for my life.

I challenge you all to say two simple words, “Thank You” to the creator of the universe. Start there and see where it takes you!

So now, again I want to say THANK YOU Lord God …. For everything that you have done, everything that you are doing and everything that you will do in my life! I thank you God for blessing me and my family so that we may be a blessing to others! Dear Lord, I Thank You, I Thank You, I Thank you, I Thank you for your magnificence and your brilliance!
